What is Alchemist?

Alchemist is a local AI agent environment that allows you to create and run your own AI agents on your own hardware. It is designed to be easy to use and flexible, so you can create agents that fit your specific needs.

Application for your environment.

Alchemist runs on your own machine as a local application. You are in full control of your data and your agents. We provide a simple installer that lets you get started quickly on Mac, Windows, and Linux.

Stay local and private!

Alchemist is designed to be run locally, so you can keep your data private and secure. You can create agents that run on your own hardware, and you can control how they access your data.

You can run Alchemist with local models and with local documents to stay fully private! Enjoy experimenting with agents and getting work done without exposing your data.

All language models in one place!

Alchemist brings the same interface and capabilities regardless of the language model provider. You can stay local with Ollama or Docker, or bring your API key to all major model providers.

Assistants, Agents, and Agent Teams.

Alchemist allows you to create assistants, agents, and agent teams. You can create simple assistants that help you with specific tasks, or you can create complex agent teams that work together to solve problems.

You create them without writing any code and have the same interface to simple assistants and most complex teams.

Local knowledge-base for your documents.

Alchemist includes built-in local knowledge base. You can create collections of documents and use them with your teams in an Agentic RAG.Bring your internal knowledge without training language model!

Local tools and support for MCP servers.

Alchemist is extendable. You can create your own tools by turning any Python function into a tool or tap into the large ecosystem of Model Context Protocol servers and use tools provided by them.

Explainable workflows.

Alchemist does not leave you in the blind on how your teams reached the result. You can check the Solution Diagram to see exactly what steps did your agents plan and executed to reach the solution!

Prototype in Alchemist, run in Elemental!
